The Hive Network was officially launched at Blackburn Youth Zone in 2012 with an aim to turn Blackburn and Darwen into a ‘world class’ business area.
Established by some of the Borough’s most influential people and companies, more than 180 business leaders have already signed-up to the Network.
We encourage you to join and help us.
Spanning all sectors and open to any local firm, large or small, Hive has made a commitment to raising the prosperity of the towns. In year one our priorities included working together to:
- tackle unemployment and promote apprenticeships
- unpick public sector procurement and increase local inter-trading
- raise the profile and prospects of businesses within the Borough
In year 2, we have re-convened the Network for a session on business connectivity, launched a local procurement portal, created a forum of local finance providers, built on our key strengths including manufacturing excellence and have continued to promote the area as a great place to do business.
