National Festival of Making Returns
Last year you helped make the first National Festival of Making a huge success for both Blackburn with Darwen and wider Lancashire. The festival brought in 30,000 extra visitors to Blackburn town centre for a true festival celebration of the regions industrial heritage and the contemporary future of making and manufacturing industries.
The Festival of Making team are currently developing the next year of the festival and want to let you know about three ways in which Hive members can get involved:
Sponsorship – View the sponsorship document here which details how you can partner with the team to support the festival’s financial model. The festival is FREE to access for everyone and therefore depends on the financial support of the business community. In return you are offered an outstanding package of benefits and opportunities for you to promote your business at the festival. If you would like to discuss sponsorship opportunities, get in touch with Lauren Zawadzki in the Festival Team right away.
Host a Make with the Manufacturer workshop – Creating a Town Centre Factory Floor – National Festival of Making will provide a number of businesses with an artist/facilitator to devise a public, free to access workshop using your manufacturing materials. Opportunities to get involved with the acclaimed Art in Manufacturing Mini Series “Workshop Programme” are limited, so be quick.
Volunteering – “FESTIVAL MAKERS” – The festival relies on Blackburn’s friendly faces and volunteers to help with a multitude of things, including wayfinding, workshop assistance, greeters and evaluation and data surveys. Link in to your organisation’s CSR policy and provide ‘In-kind’ support with paid members of staff to support the festival weekend. It’s a great opportunity for your business to support the festival at grass roots level and a vital element of making the event a huge success.
With your help we can make the National Festival of Making an even bigger success than last year. If you would like to discuss any of the opportunities or your own ideas of how your organisation can get involved then please do not hesitate to contact Lauren Zawadzki of the National Festival of Making Team on 07917 275767 or by e-mail here.
